Awards Luncheon Recognizes Student Awardees and Supporters
On May 26, 2017, the Department of Psychology recognized outstanding graduate and undergraduate students who received endowed scholarships and fellowships this year, as well as the supporters who made the awards possible, at our Inaugural Awards Luncheon. Faculty, staff, students, and friends of the Psychology Department gathered at the UW Waterfront Activities Center to celebrate the students' achievements and the impactful work made possible by the generosity of the awards' endowers. Some students had the unique opportunity to thank the benefactors of their awards in person: Brianna Yamaksaki and Valerie Tryon, recipients of the 2017 Earl Hunt Graduate Fellowship created by the late former UW Psychology professor Earl "Buz" Hunt and his wife Mary Lou, expressed their gratitude to Mary Lou for helping to bring their work to life. Congratulations to our awardees and thank you to our generous supporters!
