You can help the Psychology Department expand our programs and service to our students and the greater community. Consider supporting one of the following funds to have the greatest impact.
Support our mission to promote healthy minds and society
Our unique and broad collection of research programs enable us help solve pressing societal challenges, such as social inequality and mental health concerns. In addition, our stellar cognitive and behaviorally-oriented brain research allows us to be primary innovators of technologies that improve your quality of life. We invite you to help us achieve these visions by contributing to Friends of Psychology. Your contributions will help us to recruit the best faculty and make new discoveries that will promote healthy minds and society.
Improve undergraduate education
Our Psychology major is one of the best in the country, offering students opportunities to work at internships, participate in community fieldwork, and work with faculty on cutting-edge research projects. We also offer support to our undergraduates through Honors Program research funding, the Psychology Writing Center, the Statistics and Methodology Lab, SmartPsych, and the brand new Psychology Study Center. We also provide various social and learning opportunities to our students, such as workshops throughout the year on careers in psychology, how to apply for graduate schools, and the Psychology majors graduate ceremony. These activities all require scarce departmental funds from budgets that have been repeatedly cut over the past few years. You can join us in supporting these programs by contributing to the Friends of Psychology Fund.
Support top graduate students
Every year, we compete with the top Psychology departments in the country for the nation's best graduate students. The biggest problem we face in this competition is a lack of summer support and research fellowships to allow our graduate students to pursue innovative research and service projects—and survive the high cost of living in the Seattle area. You can help by contributing to any of the graduate support funds.
