Description
The Family Processes and Child Development (FPCD) Lab is recruiting several detail-oriented research assistants (RAs) to assist with a theoretical scoping review on parent/family monitoring among high-risk parents. These RAs will identify and locate relevant empirical articles and classify/code them based on a previously developed, standardized coding system. This requires RAs to extensively read multiple papers per week and report findings and interpretations to the research team via spreadsheets. RAs will upload selected articles to a shared folder. In addition to maintaining organized research records and documentation, RAs will also attend regularly scheduled coding meetings run by the lab PI (Dr. Jacques) and research coordinator to discuss coding progress and project needs.
Minimum Requirements
This is a good opportunity for students interested in developmental psychology and parenting and family processes. RAs will gain experience with the scoping review empirical process (e.g., literature searching, article screening, data extraction). Must be an avid readers, reliable, organized, attentive to detail, & able to follow coding procedures carefully and consistently. Prior research experience preferred but not required. Expected commitment of 6 hours/week for 2 quarters.
