Description
This ad is for an opportunity for a research assistant to join the Family Processes and Child Development (FPCD) Lab and work on an existing project using previously collected data. The project examines individual differences in intergenerational (parent-child) risk for various forms of psychopathology using a large national dataset. During Fall 2026, this research assistant will be tasked with reproducing and replicating the first part of a previous lab study in a statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and co-authoring a write-up of those results (including relevant tables and figures) for a manuscript that will be submitted for publication. Specifically, students will conduct statistical approaches such as multiple imputation, obtaining descriptive statistics (e.g., correlations, standard deviations), multiple regression, and comparison of regression coefficients.
Minimum Requirements
Strong comfort and familiarity with statistical concepts and ability to run statistical analyses semi-independently. Preference given to students with prior research experience, particular experience involving independent or collaborate statistical analyses. Grade of B+ or higher in PSYCH 209 & introductory statistics courses is preferred. Prior experience with technical & research writing is also preferred. Minimum commitment is 3 hours/week for 1 academic quarter
