Description
We are recruiting students who are motivated to acquire research experience to assist in an NIH-funded study in the space of addiction psychology and emotion regulation. In this ecological momentary assessment (EMA) study, we are exploring alcohol use behaviors and appraisals in relation to momentary negative affect and stress. The main task will be to assist with conducting 2-hour onboarding appointments via Zoom with participants. The onboardings include educating participants about the study, showing participants how to take EMA surveys on their phone, and conducting a structured clinical interview for Alcohol Use Disorder (DSM-5 SCID for AUD). These onboarding appointments can be flexibly scheduled during work hours on Mondays-Fridays, also depending on when graduate research assistants (RAs) are available for training supervision. This project is a great opportunity for any student interested in research, especially those considering graduate school in clinical psychology.
Minimum Requirements
We are looking for students to commit to one full year, as it will take some time to train you (about one quarter for training) and then complete recruitment in the study (3+ additional quarters to reach recruitment goals). The weekly workload would be 9-10+ hours per week. We are looking for students with good communication skills, a motivation for research, and an interest in administering clinical diagnostic interviews. You need to have completed Psych 209.
