Description

We are recruiting students who are motivated to acquire research experience to assist in an NIH-funded study in the space of addiction psychology and decision-making. In this lab-based study, we will explore how participants decide whether to drink alcohol in moments they are stressed. The main task will be to assist with running participants through experimental sessions, which will mostly take place in the late afternoon/early evening. You are going to collect self-report and physiological data, participate in the stress induction, administer drinks to the participants, and answer questions. Experience in additional research-related tasks can be provided based on interest. Some availability on weekends may be required as the study will run continuously.

This project is a great opportunity for any student interested in research experience but especially for those considering the Psychology Honors program and/or graduate school training in clinical, cognitive, or social psychology.

Minimum Requirements

We are looking for students to commit to at least two quarters as it will take some time to train you to run the experiment. Hourly workload would be around 4-8 hours per week. We are looking for students with good communication skills and a mind for research. You need to have completed Psych 209.
