Description

The Language Development and Processing (LDP) Lab (PI: Dr. Naja Ferjan Ramírez) is seeking students to join a project on early language interactions between bilingual Hispanic/Latino fathers and their infants. Students will assist graduate student Adeline Braverman in manually annotating audio recordings collected in bilingual homes. Students receive course credit in Psychology (PSYCH 499). Students may enroll in PSYCH 499 for Summer Term A, B, or the full-term, with the possibility of extending into Autumn 2026 (not required).
Email Adeline Braverman at abrave@uw.edu with the subject line “Habla Conmigo Project 499 Interest.” and send the following: 1) a brief cover letter describing any prior research experience, experience working with children, your Spanish language background, and why you are interested in the project; 2) your resume; 3) your unofficial transcript.

Minimum Requirements

This opportunity is open to all eligible students regardless of race, sex, or other identity. Student must be fluent in both English and Spanish. Student must be taking other summer classes during their 499 term. Priority given to students with Linguistics or Speech and Hearing Sciences background and to students who plan to enroll for the full summer term. The ideal candidate will also have experience with manual coding/annotation of audio recording data.
