Program Overview
The Neural Systems and Behavior (NSB) program is an interdisciplinary and cutting-edge graduate program that merges the strengths of behavioral neuroscience and neuroethology. This program allows students to acquire expertise in psychological, physiological, and ethological approaches to the study of behavior by participating in a diverse range of research opportunities in both field and laboratory settings. Faculty research within the program spans numerous areas, including animal communication, social behavior, decisions, memory, motivation, and sensory processing. Additionally, the program delves into anatomical, chemical, genetic,neurophysiological, and computational aspects of brain functions. The NSB program encourages interdisciplinary collaboration, providing access to an extensive array of resources and the opportunity to interact with over 120 Neuroscience faculty members across the UW campus. This comprehensive approach prepares students to excel in the dynamic field of neural systems and behavior.
