Four UW Psychology professors participated in UW Faculty Field Tour of Washington State

UW Psychology professors Debrielle T. Jacques, Lucía Magis-Weinberg, Sama Ahmed, and Z. Yan Wang participated in the 2023 UW Faculty Field Tour this spring. The five-day, 1,000-mile bus tour provided our faculty, and 22 of their colleagues from across the university, with an opportunity to see the UW's impact on families and communities aacross the state.

Departing from the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture, the tour group traveled to Tacoma, Olympia, the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center, the Yakima River Valley, Spokane, the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, the North Cascades, and beyond.

"The Faculty Field Tour was really transformative for me," said Z. Yan Wang, Assistant Professor of Psychology and Biology and Weill Neurohub Term Assistant Professor. "I developed strong connections with my peers, with community members, and with the land. I have a deep appreciation for the many different ways that one can be a Washingtonian, and I think will help me connect with my future students."
