Description

The overall aim of Project BRIGHT (Building Resilience In Gender-affirming alcohol Healthcare for Trans individuals) is to understand ways to improve alcohol screening and healthcare for trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive individuals through qualitative interviews. We prioritize intersectionality, working with primarily Latine and BIPOC LGBTQ+ community members and organizations, as well as offering interviews in both English and Spanish. RAs will assist with recruitment and retention efforts, co-leading interviews, as well as transcribing, coding, and analyzing qualitative data. Spanish speaking students may have additional opportunities related to assisting with and translating Spanish interviews. This study is funded by the Addictions, Drug, and Alcohol Institute at UW.

In Summer and Autumn 2024, we can offer 2-3 credits (6-9 hours/week).
If interested, please email your resume/CV and brief (1 paragraph) statement about your interest in the project to projectbright@uw.edu.
