Description

Do you want to learn more about neuroscience, cognitive psychology, development, childcare, or education? The Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences (I-LABS) is a multidisciplinary research center focusing on the cognitive science and neuroscience of development in the first years of life, with an emphasis on infants and toddlers. Our studies are designed to help parents and psychologists learn more about the mind and brain of developing children in regards to their social, emotional, and language development.

Job duties
Students will participate in the research in any of the following important ways:
• Greeting parents of research participants in the reception area
• Making database entries; conducting internet searches
• Taking training from the Human Subjects Office
• General office duties (e.g. checking phone messages/emails) in support of scientists’ research

Reading materials will also be provided for you to learn more about the research at I-LABS.

Minimum Requirements

Requirements:
• Commitment of at least 2 quarters is preferred, but not required
• Prompt and reliable attendance
• Previous experience with research techniques and/or children is helpful, but not necessary
• Clearance of a background check prior to your first day working at I-LABS, required by the UW Office of the Youth Protection Coordinator
