UW News posted a release featuring Jennifer Forsyth’s new research investigating how genetic changes impact the severity of schizophrenia symptoms. The study, published in the American Journal of Psychiatry, supports the idea that deletions in genes that regulate early brain and neuron development are associated with more severe features of schizophrenia spectrum disorders, particularly lower cognitive abilities. Psychology Grad students: Jinhan Zhu, Zachary Trevorrow, and Mahnoor Hyat were co-authors. Ariana Chavannes, Sam Sieversten and Sophie Ferreira-Ianone were also co-authors. Read more at UW News.
