Priscilla Lui Guest Edits Special Section in the Journal Cultural Diversity & Ethnic Minority Psychology

Priscilla Lui is guest editing a special section on the implementation of open science in multicultural research contexts, in the journal Cultural Diversity & Ethnic Minority Psychology. Credible research relies on transparency, independent verification, and inclusivity, and considerations of how to engage with these practices in ethnic minority and cultural diversity research have been lacking. This call for papers also includes a unique professional development opportunity available to advanced doctoral students and early career professionals on peer reviews:

Cultural Diversity & Ethnic Minority Psychology (CDEMP) invites submissions for a special section on “Transparency, Credibility, and Accountability in Context: Open Science as Psychological Inquiry in Ethnic Minority and Multicultural Psychology Research,” guest edited by Priscilla Lui (University of Washington). This special section seeks conceptual and empirical contributions that examine how transparency, credibility, and open science practices can be meaningfully defined and implemented in ethnic minority and multicultural psychology research. We welcome contributions across methodological traditions, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and community-based participatory research. The section is intended to foster dialogue among scholars who view open science as a promising set of tools for strengthening psychological research and those who raise important questions about ethical obligations, community partnerships, data sovereignty, and equity in multicultural research contexts. Letters of Intent are due by May 15, 2026. View full call for papers.
