Adjunct Professor Kate Comtois was elected as a new member of the Washington State Academy of Sciences
Congratulations to Katherine Anne (Kate) Comtois, PhD, MPH, Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Adjunct Professor of Psychology, and Director of the Center for Suicide Prevention and Recovery (CSPAR), for her election as a new member of the Washington State Academy of Sciences (WSAS).
Dr. Comtois is one of 36 new members recognized for their outstanding record of scientific and technical achievement, and their willingness to work on behalf of the Academy to bring the best available science to bear on issues within the state of Washington.
Comtois is recognized “for her sustained commitment to community-engaged, science-driven practice and policy change related to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of mental health, with a focus on providing effective, sustainable and culturally appropriate care to people with serious mental illness.”
