Debrielle Jacques received funding from the UW Seattle Black Opportunity Fund to complete a manuscript on navigating the PhD program application process
Dr. Jacques was awarded funding from the University of Washington’s Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity’s Black Opportunity Fund. The funding will support the completion and submission of a manuscript entitled “Demystifying the process of applying to clinical psychology doctoral programs: A declassified guide to inform and empower applicants.”

From articulating research interests to evaluating programs through a DEI-oriented lens, the manuscript offers practical strategies and insights to help applicants amplify their voices and find the right academic fit.
The Black Opportunity Fund (BOF) amplifies Black students, faculty, staff, and the broader community by supporting projects and initiatives that center Black experiences. The BOF is run through the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity.
