Sapna Cheryan designated with Honorable Mention for Marsha L. Landolt Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award sponsored by The Graduate School

Sapna Cheryan received the designation of Honorable Mention for the Marsha L. Landolt Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award, sponsored by UW's Graduate School with assistance from the Office of the President.

This award, initially created by late Graduate School Dean Marsha Landolt in 1999 and later named in her honor, is funded by the Graduate School Fund for Excellence & Innovation, and honors members of the UW faculty who exemplify excellence in graduate education. The Graduate School describes the importance of "the relationship between a graduate student and a faculty advisor is one that can have a profound, lifelong influence on both parties. At its best, this mentoring relationship inspires and gives confidence to the student while providing the faculty member with a valued colleague."

This year’s Marsha L. Landolt Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award was presented to Priti Ramamurthy (Professor, Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies).
