Kristina Olson and Steve Buck were awarded Royalty Research Fund grants in the latest round.
-Kristina’s Gender Nonconformity in Middle Childhood explores basic gender cognition in a national sample of transgender children. Specifically, we want to understand how children's perceptions of their own gender are and are not related to mental health outcomes as well as the ways in which their gender cognition do and do not differ from non-transgender children.
-Steve’s Perceptual and Neural Processing of Dark Colors involves parallel human psychophysical and primate retinal physiological studies to explore how the visual system processes little-studied colors that are darker than their surroundings differently from bright colors.
