Marsha Linehan has been awarded the prestigious 2012 American Psychological Foundation (APF) Gold Medal Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Application of Psychology.

Linehan developed Dialectic Behavior Therapy, a cognitive behavioral treatment originally created to treat suicide patients and now the standard treatment for borderline personality disorder.
