Caitlin Handron received a Psi Chi Regional Research Award for her poster at the Western Psychological Association Convention last month.
The title of her poster is "Worth the Weight? Heavier Asian Americans Seen as More American and May Face Less Discrimination." The research investigates how excess weight may increase recognition of Asian Americans’ American identity and reduce the extent to which they are thought to be in the US illegally. The WPA Convention was held last month in Burlingame, CA.
Jennifer Wang and Sapna Cheryan are co-authors on this project.
