Celebrating the Retirement of Carrie Perrin

Carrie Perrin

After more than 30 years of service to the University of Washington, Carrie Perrin, Director of Academic Services, retired at the end of January.

Carrie served as Director for over 20 years and was instrumental in guiding our department through significant transitions in advising and curriculum. Her deep expertise, thoughtful leadership, and student-centered approach helped shape our academic services into what they are today.

One of Carrie’s most impactful contributions was the creation of Psych 299, a course specifically designed to support transfer students entering the Psychology major. This course has provided incoming students with a valuable introduction to university life and guidance for navigating the complexities of a large academic institution.

Before stepping into the Director role, Carrie spent over eight years as a senior academic advisor in Psychology, and about three years as a senior advisor in the Department of Romance Languages. Her career reflects a lasting commitment to student success and academic excellence across multiple departments.
