Treating Anxiety and Posttraumatic Stress: Understanding mechanisms, access, and effectiveness from community member delivery to functional neuroimagingShannon Dorsey, Angela Fang, and Lori Zoellner
Department of Psychology, University of Washington
We will present work from three labs focused on important questions in treating anxiety, obsessive compulsive related disorders, and posttraumatic stress. We use innovative care delivery models to improve access and cultural fit, including task-sharing, in which community members are trained to deliver care in their communities, both in schools and in religious settings. We will also discuss target mechanism-focused strategies for enhancing treatment response, and integrating repeated functional neuroimaging throughout treatment to probe those mechanisms.
