Short Project Description

In the Zeroing in on the Examination of Brain and Behavior Research in Autism (ZEBRA) Study we are using EEG/ERP and behavioral assessment to explore how genetic events impact the brain and behavior among children with ASD. We are recruiting individuals with genetic events in the beta-catenin genetic pathway, individuals with ASD without these genetic events, and typically developing individuals between 8 and 17 to participate. We perform neurocognitive assessments, EEGs, blood draws and take a developmental history. Interns would assist with participant visits, data collection and other lab related tasks.

Student commitment: 2 quarter minimum.

Skills / Experience Preferred

We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible, independent and flexible individuals with an interest in gaining an in-depth understanding of research in chromosome deletions/duplications and autism. Experience with families and children with special needs, computers and other research is desired but not required.
